The Dark Artifact

The Dark Artifact

Izzie Berens and her PDA partner, Rafe, thought they were ready to hunt the mysterious Arcane Syndicate. After all, the group sent a shapeshifter assassin into their city. It’s their job to hunt down the bad and the bold, and they do it well.

But when a brutal daylight robbery ends in death and the theft of a valuable and powerful artifact, Izzie and Rafe are drawn into a case that may portend a deadly new strategy for the Arcane Syndicate. Who’s really behind the theft of the dark artifact?

Even more important, why does Izzie sense a familiar touch of magic the deeper she gets into the case?

Forced to work with another man she’s not sure she can trust, Izzie’s instincts push her to follow a dangerous path. It’s in her Berens’ DNA. Do the right thing, ask questions later.

That is, until Rafe is forced to put his life on the line to save the city from a threat nobody saw coming.

Can they recover the dark artifact before it brings the city of Austin to its knees? The game is on, and Izzie won’t stop until she has all the answers.

Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore in the U.S. but have had a weird wanderlust to live in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories! There's more at www.oriceran.com.
