Coffee… it’s what fuels many of us. It keeps what little of our sanity left in check and prevents us from committing murder. For one of LMBPN’s staff members, it’s what the fans relentlessly tease her about. But she’s also an avid reader…

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Kelly since the end of 2018. And we’ve gotten to know each other fairly well. When I have a question about images needed for graphics, upcoming releases or other things we’re working on behind the scenes, like the Timeline, Kelly is who I talk to. Much like Kelly, I appreciate coffee and reading too. Kelly was one of the first people that came to mind when I suggested interviews with staff and authors and she graciously agreed.

Without further adieu, let’s get to know the maven of coffee, Kelly O’Donnell. And anything in italics and in parenthesis is my commentary. Enjoy!

How were you introduced to LMBPN?

I saw a recommendation for Death Becomes Her on Amazon.

What do you do for LMBPN?

Wow, it really depends on the time of day lol. I supervise the JIT and Beta reader teams, supervise the Facebook admin team, coordinate the various cover artists’ schedules and act as the go-between between the artists and the authors. I also act as ‘Keeper of the Schedules’ to keep all the balls in the air. (What she really means is -everything-.)

What do you like most about LMBPN’s books?

I love the way the stories are character-based. They all have a strong sense of justice as an underlining theme.

What are your favorite 5 series LMBPN has published?

Only five… really? You don’t ask for much, do ya?

Ok. Let’s see. In no particular order:

  • The Kurtherian Gambit of course, totally amazing series
  • Myth of the Dragon is definitely climbing my favorites list with each book
  • Chronicles of an Urban Druid
  • Metal Legion cause heck yeah Metal Never Dies!
  • The Great Insurrection

What are your 5 all-time favorite series (does not have to be limited to LMBPN)?

Oh lordy. How can I choose? This is like asking me to choose a favorite child. (I thought about asking her about her favorite child but… there’s not enough coffee to make me that brave.)

What are your favorite genres?

SciFi, Military SciFi, Fantasy, Urb… you know it might be easier to list what I don’t read. (I’m fairly certain she reads everything.)

What are you reading right now?

Hehe – So I am currently reading <redacted.> Wish I could tell you but alas, I can’t since it’s a beta. (She’s such a tease…)

If you could pick one series you’d like to see more books in, which would it be?

Hmmm. Also a hard one. I’d definitely like to see more Kurtherian – BA’s storyline. I wasn’t ready for it to end. Yes, I know more Kurtherian Universe books are coming but still. They’re not BA.

Who is your favorite character and from what book by which author?

Can’t really answer this one as I have too many and oftentimes for different reasons.

If you could pick ONE supernatural/paranormal/alien creature that could be real, what would it be and why?

Oh heck no! We have enough going on without doing this to ourselves!

If you could pick one character from a fictional world to come to life in our world, who would it be and why?

Bethany Anne. I, like many, many others, would love to see her kick butt.

What is your favorite movie?

I’m so far behind in movie watching that I can only tell you that one that I watch whenever I see it’s on – The Lord of the Rings.

What is your favorite TV series?

I don’t watch TV.

laptop computer and coffee on wood workspace and the beach backgroundTell us a bit about your hobbies.

I read and play with grandkids.

What is your dream vacation?

Toss up between beach or mountains. Plenty ‘o coffee, a snuggly blanket, and my Kindle

Anything else you’d like to add for the fans?

Keep being as awesome as you are and thank you for the laughs in the different groups!

Many thanks to Kelly for taking the time out of her day to answer these questions! Who would you like to see interviewed next? Drop a line to ranger.tabitha@lmbpn.com to let me know!
