The Heinous Crimes of Sara Slick Boxed Set:
I was innocent, and they called me a monster. Maybe a monster is exactly what the earth needs.
From Book One:
My name is Sara Slick, and I was an average teenager. I worked hard. Followed the rules. Took care of my family. But normal dissolved the night that the hidden world of The Far showed up to accuse my dad of heinous crimes against the magical community. To protect the ones I loved, I took the blame and the sentence of ten lifetimes in The Deep. No human had ever been sent to this paranormal prison. They didn’t think I’d last the night. They couldn’t have been more wrong.

Echo Ender:
The chaser being chased, while the echo pulls every dreamer in.
The real and unreal begin to blur, as dreams and nightmares blend and enemies appear as friends. Something must end.
Ravlen is single minded in her quest to stop the men who lure those who dream, who wish, and who beg for a better world. Has she misjudged the echo masters? Falsehood and promise, suffering in the real world or numbness in the echo. Ravlen sees a different future, and she’ll put herself on the line for it. Her strength is her weakness. But wisdom and a dog teach her that weakness is a strength.
As the choices become fewer and lives hang in the balance, will Ravlen know which path to take?
The Free Trader of Warren Deep:
A Cat and his human minions fight to bring peace to humanity.
The reviewers had these words: “Engaging characters…fun and interesting…enjoyable and light reading…you won’t want to put it down!”
Compared to Andre Norton, the Free Trader series takes you to a colonized world across the galaxy where humans and their sentient creations struggle together to build a better world. Not everyone believes. Some believe that being stronger means they can take what they want. People suffer, until the Free Trader arrives. He only wants to trade, but the takers have other ideas.

Murder Most Annoying:
Carolyn Neville may not be the world’s greatest detective, but that’s fine. She’s a long-suffering Manhattan book editor, one of those dinosaurs in danger of being replaced by spell check and Netflix.
Carolyn is still trying to edit the world around her. But the world isn’t cooperating, her spiritual life is shaky, and her love life is nonexistent. Unfortunately, her job at a Manhattan publishing house keeps drawing her into more literal dangers, much to her understandable irritation. Along with her sarcastic sidekick, Stephen Ames, they investigate shocking charges that one of their bestselling authors, Willow Hayly, is a fraud. When the Atlanta blogger who broke the story is murdered, they find themselves chief among the suspects…
Echo Breaker:
No one understands what emotional turmoil people live with. Boiling beneath the surface until it explodes. The world must change. Unless a person can create a new world and disappear into it, an echo world, reverberating with the sounds of one’s own dreams.
But like a dream, they aren’t real. Who can see the unreal, the real, the fantastic, and the mundane? Those who were born in the dreamland and brought to the real world. A part of them is forever elsewhere. It makes them special. Who has the emotional range, from atmospheric highs to the depths of despair and all points in between to best deal with the unreal? The young, that’s who.

Hand-Picked Promotions Just For You
According to Merriam-Webster, Space Opera is a futuristic melodramatic fantasy involving space travelers and extraterrestrials beings.
That seems like an overly simplistic definition to me. It is the dictionary, after all. Still, Merriam-Webster is less unflattering than Oxford: a novel, movie, or television program set in outer space, typically of a simplistic and melodramatic nature.
But we aren’t here because we like to read dictionaries.
We’re here because we love to read science fiction and fantasy. And even if you believe Space Opera is fantasy, like Messrs. Merriam and Webster, you know it’s far from being simplistic.
Space Opera is about interstellar adventure, larger than life characters, and far-flung civilizations. It’s about advanced species, mind-blowing weapons, and life-altering technology, in stories that start next year or centuries in the future. But more than that, it’s about the struggle against galactic empires, about freedom, justice, and finding a place and a family where you belong.
Whether you subscribe to one of the definitions above, or something completely different, Space Opera has something for anyone who’s ever wanted to shoot a ray-gun, meet an alien, or explore a far-off galaxy.
