The Stolen Spellbook

The Stolen Spellbook

Chicago's rockin' witch detective is on a spellbinding mission to recover an ancient grimoire before dark forces unlock ultimate power.

I'm Lila Darkholme, the witch who rocks the stage as the frontwoman of The Witch Punks, Chicago's all-girl band. But when the amps go silent, I'm on a different kind of adventure - solving supernatural mysteries is my jam.

Adventure is my addiction, and hunting for secrets is my high. As a witch detective, I thrive on uncovering the hidden and chasing the unknown.

So when the ancient and dangerous Elysian Grimoire vanishes from The Art Institute of Chicago, we're on it in a flash.

Tracking down that elusive tome won't be a cakewalk. But with my mentor Ruby, my boyfriend Danny, and my found family of magical misfits in The Witch Punks, we'll tear through every mystical challenge. Count on it.

The dark magic rumored to be within that grimoire could grant immortality to the Big Bad Guys, and that's a game-changer we can't stomach. We'll pull out all the stops to recover the book and thwart the shadowy forces aiming to exploit it.

But trust is a rare commodity. Suspects, both on campus and off, are shrouded in deceit. Friend or foe, it's tough to tell. And the sinister culprits who nabbed the grimoire won't stop at anything to achieve their dark desires.

The stakes are sky-high, the clock is ticking, and danger lurks at every corner. But I live for the thrill of the chase. With my bandmates at my side, I'm poised to rock the day with powerful riffs, potent spells, and a rebellious spirit. This witch-detective won't quit until the grimoire is safe and sound. Game on, Chicago!

If you crave magic and mystery, found families and sharp-witted girl sleuths, then this series was brewed just for you. Join us, and let the adventures roll.

Lyn South

I live for writing, adventure, learning, chocolate, family, love, and really great musical theater (not necessarily in that order).

I've never been one to color inside the lines of life and that means my characters often don't either. I have a super soft spot for rebels who rise from the ashes of their circumstances. I've been the phoenix a time or two (or ten) in my life...been there, done that, got the tattoo. Seriously. I have a phoenix tattoo.

I love all kinds of stories but all types of Fantasy and Science Fiction are my faves. I love adventure and my biggest ones (so far) have been riding a motorcycle through Namibia and South Africa and hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon (took my knees forEVER to recover from that one. As a life-long learner, I dig doing new things. I love helping other people learn, so my 20+ year career as an instructional designer helped me do that but FINALLY, I get to do what I've always dreamed of doing: Write for a living.

I have The Cutest Mini Goldendoodle on the planet, my buddy Indy (so named because I wanted to legitimately say "We named the DOG Indiana").

You should also know that I love helping other writers tell their stories, too. I'm an editor, book coach, and course creator of The WriteStormers Program, a resource and online community for writers who need to get unstuck in their stories (launching in 2022).
