The Portrait of Doom

The Portrait of Doom

A witch. A warlock. A brewing war...

Lila Darkholme isn't your average college student. She's a witchy girl sleuth and the fierce frontwoman of The Witch Punks. But now, she faces her greatest challenge yet.

Robert Caldwell, a vengeful warlock, has escaped prison with one goal: to steal the magical grimoire hidden in Ruby's cottage. The secrets within could unleash untold havoc.

Enter Dr. Elara Thornwood, the enigmatic new professor at Chicago College. As Lila works with her to uncover the secrets of another ancient grimoire, the black market for magical objects booms, fueled by Caldwell's insatiable hunger for power.

With the stakes rising and Caldwell's attacks escalating, Lila must guard the Elysian Grimoire, unravel Dr. Thornwood's secrets, and track down a disturbing, living portrait. Time is running out.

Can Lila protect her friends and stop Caldwell before his vengeance consumes everything she holds dear? Or will the warlock's obsession for power and revenge prove too strong, even for this rebellious witch?

I live for writing, adventure, learning, chocolate, family, love, and really great musical theater (not necessarily in that order).

I've never been one to color inside the lines of life and that means my characters often don't either. I have a super soft spot for rebels who rise from the ashes of their circumstances. I've been the phoenix a time or two (or ten) in my life...been there, done that, got the tattoo. Seriously. I have a phoenix tattoo.

I love all kinds of stories but all types of Fantasy and Science Fiction are my faves. I love adventure and my biggest ones (so far) have been riding a motorcycle through Namibia and South Africa and hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon (took my knees forEVER to recover from that one. As a life-long learner, I dig doing new things. I love helping other people learn, so my 20+ year career as an instructional designer helped me do that but FINALLY, I get to do what I've always dreamed of doing: Write for a living.

I have The Cutest Mini Goldendoodle on the planet, my buddy Indy (so named because I wanted to legitimately say "We named the DOG Indiana").

You should also know that I love helping other writers tell their stories, too. I'm an editor, book coach, and course creator of The WriteStormers Program, a resource and online community for writers who need to get unstuck in their stories (launching in 2022).
