QBBS Merideth Reynolds
Giannini walked into the little kitchenette she shared with Sia. It was a nice two bedroom, two bath suite often referred to as a roommate plan on earth. The kitchen, living room, and dining room were situated in the middle between the two bedrooms. She had the room without the ensuite bath, since she was the neater of the two women and would keep it cleaner for guests. Giannini opened the little refrigerator they had, which had technology for cooling that she was completely in awe of, and snagged a bottle of beer.
She looked at the little label that All Guns Blazing had placed on the beer and raised an eyebrow. It said that it had a hint of berry in it. She reached to her right and opened a drawer, grabbing a bottle opener to pop off the cap. She tossed the cap into a bag with the others.
She would take all of the other bottle caps back to the guys when the bag was full. She walked into the living room, sat on the couch and grabbed a tablet to turn on the news. She took a sip of her beer and had to admit that it did have a nice hint of berries. She turned the beer bottle around to look at the label again and reviewed the different contents.
It was raspberry that they used in this recipe, or at least that’s what they claimed on the label. Knowing Bobcat, William, and Marcus, it could be anything. So long as it tasted like berries to Bobcat, it probably went on the label that way.
She picked the tablet back up and scrolled through the different channels that were available from both the internal options, and those from the Yollin networks which would be translated. While she could ask the entertainment E.I. to choose a station, she still preferred to review the information in text form and pick one herself.
Giannini noticed that when one of her favorite Yollin newscasters had a special on, and asked the E.I. to turn on channel twenty-two. The suite’s projector turned on, and a nice forty-eight-inch picture appeared on the wall opposite her.
She took another sip of her beer as she watched the news about another public riot on the television.
R’Chkoklet, Planet Yoll
The young female Yollin reporter turned to view the camera. “Hello, this is Pehl-eck, and I am reporting from the town of R’Chkoklet, in the upper Caste Business Zone. As my camera person pans to the five-story building over my shoulder, you will notice there is a mob of protesters throwing stones at the building and shouting slogans at those inside. It seems there was a violent outburst here just hours ago. Some of the upper caste members have refused to accept the edicts coming from the Etheric Empire. When an individual who would, traditionally, be a lower caste member refused the commands of three previously upper caste members, in a small breakfast shop this morning, they grabbed him and pulled him out into the street. Then, it’s reported, they kicked him over and over again, leaving him severely injured. Others nearby, I understand, called in medical, and they were able to provide him care. The one who was attacked suffered multiple head wounds and cracks throughout his chest and arms as he tried to protect himself. These upper caste members are shouting against Empress Bethany Anne, who challenged and defeated our alien infested King just mere weeks ago. The whole revolution has upended our religious and societal understandings as many of those at the top are contending that the video of the King was faked. They are also accusing those of us in the news for supporting the overthrow and are critical of us giving our support to the aliens. There has been a lot of strain between caste members as all Yollins seek new equilibrium in our relationships with each other.”
Pehl-eck ducked her head when a large explosion reverberated down the street from the building behind her. Turning, she gasped in shock when she saw the destruction wrought by those inside the building. It appeared that they had used military weapons on the rioters surrounding them. There were now bodies lying in the street as screams of pain and fright could be heard all the way from her location.
She put a hand up to her mouth and continued reporting. “Oh my God! The upper caste members have attacked the rioters around their building! This is no longer merely an angry group of people yelling insults and throwing stones at each other. This is now a war zone!”
Pehl-eck turned back to the camera. “We all know that changes in society can be hard, however, what will be done to those that refuse the edicts coming down upon us? That is an open question that I would like to ask the Empress of the humans. What are you going to do to those members in the upper castes that refuse to accept that all Yollins are equal?”
Pehl-eck waved a hand, the gesture encompassing the building and the dead and injured people behind her. “Will there be any justice for these people? Or is this something that we Yollins will have to figure out ourselves?”
FROM MICHAEL >>> Ok, I’ve just dropped 3 chapters in 2 days to Stephen, and will be finished w/ Chapter 20 in about 2 hours of writing tomorrow morning. Then, I hope to start Chapter 21, have lunch with Author Richard Fox, then finish chapter 21 before going to meet friends from California for dinner and a show. Then, Chapter 22 and (I hope) Chapter 23 finished by the time I fly back home on Wednesday night. That means 24 by Thursday and 25 by Friday at the latest (the last chapter.)
While the edits are finalized, I’m going to try and figure out how to insert some artwork into the book. I have some art pieces of some of the aliens, and I’d like to have them in the book (specifically as small images in the front of the chapter.) We shall see how effective I am on that 😉

Tabitha’s voice called back out from her room, “Hey, so, while I go on this operation with a few of the Tontos, what you going to be doing?”
Anne walked to Tabitha’s door and leaned against the opening. “I’ve been told that I will get my own small suite in about three or four days. So, when you get back you won’t have a roomie anymore.”
Tabitha looked up from the little gym bag of extra supplies she was taking with her. “Really?” Tabitha looked around her room. “God, it will be so good not to have to be so clean all of the time.”
Anne looked at her, annoyance on her face. “What? Are you saying you’re not naturally this clean?” She pointed around the room to all of the areas that were spotless.
Tabitha chuckled. “Hell no. I’m only this clean because I had a teenager here sharing my suite all of the time. I had to set a good example. If you weren’t here, I would have been messy. When I know somebody is coming over, I will throw it all into a basket and stick it somewhere in the back of the closet. I’m not that much older than you for Pete’s sake.”
Anne continued looking at her roomie, mouth open. Finally, she threw up her hands and turned around. “I’ll bet you I’m cleaner than you are without you putting in the extra effort.” Tabitha smiled as the young woman walked away.
It wasn’t that Tabitha was a very messy person; it was just that she was a very busy person and whatever she was working on next had her attention. Slowing down to do something like, oh … cleaning up dirty clothes, never seem to have the highest priority for her.
She finished adding the extra supplies she wanted to her go bag. Stepping back into her closet, she grabbed her work clothes and laid them out on the bed. She was going in her black leather outfit this time, with the extra armor that Jean had supplied.
She walked back to her closet and started pulling out different boxes labeled with symbols that she had created. They were the different tools and tricks that she enjoyed using as a Ranger.
She made three trips into the closet and back out, setting boxes down on the bed. She looked at what she had laid out so far, and then considered what she still wanted from the closet and spoke aloud, “Achronyx?”
Her personal E.I. came back, speaking from her tablet on the dresser, “Yes?”
“Do me a favor and order a transfer cart to the suite. I’ve got too much stuff right now. And then take it down to the ship in Bay 212. I understand that will have the ship we are using for our trip.”
Her E.I. responded quickly, “Request taken care of.”
Tabitha raised an eyebrow. This was the easiest Achronyx had been in the last three days.
Normally, he was a pain in the ass. If she had time, she would have Adam take a look at her E.I. and find out what seemed to be wrong with him. However, it was one of those cases where she never seemed to have enough time, or when she had time, she never thought about it.
He had to be the most recalcitrant E.I. that she had ever had to deal with. If she didn’t know any better, she would swear Achronyx was made up of a bunch of IBM PC Junior’s all strung together.
Tabitha exited her room and crossed the suite towards Anne’s. She was going to give the teenager one more hug goodbye.
Just to make sure that Anne was doing okay.
FROM MICHAEL >>> Ok, I was slightly chastised for the paucity of Snippets for Never Surrender on the Amazon Forums 😉
It was bound to happen, as I am trying to juggle new stuff, and ‘get my groove back.’ I am … Let’s just say not as efficient at the moment. 😉
Since Friday when I wrote last on here I successfully landed (always a good thing), TS Paul has finished his book, I’ve finished my part of the editing and we will go to JIT in the morning, I think and I’ve tried to catch up on many small things. I finished Chapter 13 of Never Surrender, just 12 more chapters to go on this book… Then I have to re-read Michael’s book 01 to get my mind back into that story so I can start on Book 02 in The Second Dark Ages series.
This week, we should release the aforementioned Etheric Academy – Alpha Class 02, Nomad’s Fury (THWC05) on Wednesday, and Restricted: The Rise of Magic 01 this week as well.
Justin Sloan and I are looking to release our next books by EOM.
Finally, for those who have followed my ‘how did I get started writing’ story, my oldest son is looking to release his first book in his series in about a week and a half. It sounds like he is going to use 1/2 pen name, 1/2 real name.
Creatives, what are you going to do? They think differently 😉
Today, I’m going to highlight one of the collaborators who is starting a NEW series, a PNR / Space Romance set during the 3rd arc of The Kurtherian Gambit, and focusing on the Queen’s Rangers that join during that time.
A note for many of my readers, Holly writes STEAMY books, this is going to have scenes in it that will cause me to blush while editing. This isn’t a typical Michael Anderle, bedroom door closed type of book. For those who are wanting a more PG experience, J.L. Hendricks will be writing a series focusing on the Queen’s Guardians and Guardian Marines (door closed.)
So, a little about my collaborator: Holly Dodd is an award-winning author. Her novel won the 2016 RWA Beacon award for unpublished romantic suspense. Her fans classify her stories as steamy and intense with a little bit of funny and a lot of emotion. (I sound so awesome, but I totally ripped that from her bio.)
Here is a taste of one of her romance books… Once again – DOOR IS WIDE OPEN in these books. Not erotica, but steamy … Or so I am told. 🙂
Giving it Up (Brewhouse Book 1)
Jolene “Jo” Miller has been panting over her crush for years. He’s everything she wants: a gentle giant with kick-ass ambition and a rock-hard body that she’s dying to ride. The problem is, she’s stuck in his friend zone due to one embarrassing reason – she’s untouched.
Jo’s crush has no interest in popping her cherry. She’ll need to take some drastic measures to get her crush’s attention, and Jo has the perfect candidate to punch her v-card.
Kevin Harris is an unapologetic manwh*re. With his panty-melting smile and chiseled body, he has his choice of tits and ass. His motto: hit ’em hard and leave them aching for more. Relationships aren’t his thing, and they never crossed his mind until he met Jo. She’s everything Kevin doesn’t know he wants. She makes him tingle, and not just below the belt. But Jo’s not into it, she’s the only girl who doesn’t want to ride the Harris express. They’re just friends until Jo asks him to help her with some sexual education.
One kiss, one taste, he’s hooked. Now Kevin has to convince Jo that he’s the perfect man for her. He craves being a permanent fixture not only in her bed, but in her life. Will she give him the chance?
Warning: This sexy romance novel contains a fed-up virgin who thinks she knows what she wants, and a dominant alpha male guiding her down a kinky path.
This is a standalone story set in an interconnecting series with a HEA and NO cheating.

QBBS Merideth Reynolds
Tabitha opened the door to her suite and strode in, calling out for her roommate, “Anne?”
She walked over to the kitchen table and dropped off her tablet. Turning around, she noticed Anne coming out of her room. She seemed better than when Bethany Anne had brought the young woman to stay with her. Sure enough, Jinx, one of Asher’s and Bellatrix’s young puppies, came scooting out of Anne’s room a moment later.
“Hey R2, what’s up?” Anne turned around and dipped down with her arms held open, Jinx jumped into her arms while Tabitha shook her head. Now that she was on the receiving end of playful nicknames, as she would commonly do with Barnabas, it could be quite annoying from those much younger than oneself. Saint Payback, truly was a bitch.
“It’s not R2, it’s not Ranger Two, it’s not Queen’s Ranger Two, it’s not just ‘2’, the name is Tabitha. It’s also not Tabby, with a ‘y’ or Tabbi with an ‘i’.”
She eyed the young woman.
“How about Tabbie with an ie?” Anne smiled, wondering what the Ranger would say next.
“If a few of the Tonto’s and I didn’t need to leave shortly, I would make you eat those questions. Further, I don’t think you have enough bruises on your body for the amount of workout time that you’ve been spending.” Tabitha raised an eyebrow as she looked up and down the teenager.
Anne quickly shook her head. “Nope, workout time won’t be necessary. Tabitha is what you want to be called? Tabitha is what you will get. As for the bruises–” She waved a hand up and down her body “–Bethany Anne suggested that as a researcher, I needed to know self-defense, but did not have to work out as hard as all of the rest.”
Tabitha drew her eyebrows together. “Is that the truth?”
Anne looked at her roommate and bit her lip, finally deciding to nod her head in the affirmative.
Bethany Anne?
What is it number two?
Tabitha rolled her eyes before responding, Is it true that you told Anne she didn’t need to work so hard on her physical training because she was going to be doing research?
No, have you ever known me to suggest such a thing?
No, I haven’t. So, you can imagine my surprise when your new Etheric Researcher suggested that this was exactly what you had said.
Huh, so my new Etheric Researcher is acting all teenagerish, am I understanding you correctly?
That’s the way it appears.
Okay, since you have to go out with the Tontos on the slave issue, I’ll make sure to take care of this with Peter. He should have some insights on recalcitrant teenagers and getting the best results out of them.
Very well, I will consider this a closed issue.
Bethany Anne added, You can let her know that Peter is going to have new instructions, from me, when she is due for her training session three hours from now.
Will do, my Queen, have a great one.
You, too. Go kick some pirate ass.
Tabitha smiled. Oh, I intend to, this ought to be a hoot.
Make sure you say hello to the Twins for me.
Tweedledee and Tweedledum? I’ll let them know.
Bethany Anne cut the connection between the two of them. Tabitha raised an eyebrow. “Bethany Anne says that Peter will have new instructions for your workout when you see him in three hours.”
“Three hours!” Anne’s face opened up in shock. “I’m supposed to be meeting a couple of friends over in the library in three hours.”
“I suggest … next time that you do the workouts that you were told to do, instead of trying to get out of them. I especially suggest …” Tabitha reached up and tapped the side of her head ” … not lying to one of the Queen’s Rangers who can talk to Bethany Anne directly.”
Anne’s eyes closed when she realized her mistake, she turned around and then kicked the air in the direction of the couch. “God, it was so much easier getting away with stuff when it was only my mom and dad.”
Tabitha pursed her lips, “I understand you’re doing well with your dad now, is that right?”
Anne turned back around to face her roommate. “Yes, we spoke a couple of weeks ago, and he apologized for not intervening with mom when she got so upset with me all of the time. He says that mom is going to take a little while in the therapy sessions before she’s going to try to connect again with me.” Anne shrugged. “I’m okay with it all now, but it was pretty scary in the beginning when I thought I’d be on the outs my parents.”
Tabitha walked over to the young woman and put an arm around her shoulder and pulled her in for a hug. “You don’t need to worry about that. Your parents will forgive you, no matter what the problems are. You might just have to give it some time before it happens. They love you, but your mom was under some incredible strain and she broke. That’s nothing against her, and really, it helped a whole lot. Now, we understand classes needed to be created for those of us who aren’t coping as well as we had hoped, once we left Earth. Some of us get so involved with the next goal, we forget that a lot of those who are supporting us right now are maybe having their own troubles and difficulties.”
Anne mumbled a response into Tabitha’s chest, “Brgrlfllrrrckraghen.”
Tabitha pulled away and looked down at the teenager. “What did you say?”
Anne smiled. “I said, ‘I can’t breathe!’” Anne pulled Tabitha back in for a hug before releasing her. “I know that now, but it was pretty scary when the Queen emancipated me in the first place. I’m super excited to be working on the Etheric research, and it’s kind of cool that I sometimes get to talk to my dad about it as well.”
Tabitha turned and started walking to her own room in the suite. “Well, he did all of that work with that stupid black-ops shell company, so some of this is not that far out from what he was working on.”
Her voice came from inside her room, “So, who knows, maybe you and your father will be famous researchers into Etheric Travel!”
Tabitha didn’t see the small tear that Anne reached up and wiped away. She waited a moment to get her emotions in order. “Maybe? That would be pretty rad.”
FROM Michael >>> I’m presently up in the air, about … Well, hell if I know…. Wait a minute..
Ok, 32,994 feet it looks like.
I put up my laptop, and decided to try and take a nap. But then a “oh shit” happened. As in, “Oh shit, I forgot to put up a snippet!”
Pull out the laptop, click on GoGoInflight and grab 30 minutes of internet connectivity and BOOM BABY! Yeah, I’m uploading a snippet.
Why yes, I AM the shizzz. (Shit, I hope that is spelled right!)
Actually, I say that, but I feel bad because I could have done this while waiting at the airport, but forgot. So, for those who are reading this on Saturday, I’m sorry!
For those who have purchased Joey Anderle’s second book (or first!) I wanted to let you know he ALMOST pulled off a $100.00 day! He got to about $99.52 I think.
SO CLOSE.
He also got under 1,200 in the store (meaning, he was so close to being in the top 1,000 books being sold for that hour, a HUGE hallmark for any author, anywhere.)
For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, my youngest son (17 years old) started his author efforts with his own series in December with The Courier Chronicles. In it, he has built a fun universe that I would happily read if I wasn’t the ‘beta reader’ for it in the first place…
As in, “Dad, I’ve written another 500 words…” and then his Macbook Air from 2010 is shoved in front of my face. Talk about early author anxiety, he certainly has it.
I told him back when he released book 00 that I would support his efforts and tell all of my fans everywhere and call in a few favors AFTER he released his second book. Because, that would tell me he was dedicated to doing more stories.
And, I’m happy to say I think he has done a pretty fine job. (But then, I’m his Dad….so?)
THIS IS HIS SECOND BOOK BELOW (Book 00 – his first book – is here: Her Royal Runner)
The Messengers Menagerie (The Courier Chronicles Book 1)

It annoyed Nathan that the first words out of their contact’s mouth sounded like a verbal attack on his daughter. “Nathan,” Ecaterina gently whispered , “now is not the time to become an overprotective daddy. We have an operation to accomplish, and you need to keep your anger in check.”
“You wouldn’t have to tell me that right now–” Nathan turned keeping his voice down as well “–if the two of you had stayed up on the Meredith Reynolds.”
“I am not spending the next 20 years of my life waiting for you to come back from operations. Perhaps if you have to keep your family in mind, you won’t try too many risky activities.”
While technically true, allowing the family members to come along on the operation wasn’t a significant burden.
Christina’s aunt had made sure that the little girl had the most incredible armor created just for her. Plus, she had a new type of repulsive harness using gravity around her chest that, according to Jean Dukes, would stop projectiles.
Nathan hoped they never have had to test it, especially here in the middle of nowhere.
“That–” Nathan pointed down to his daughter “–is a small version of a wolf. It is an animal that comes from our home world. Now, if I have assuaged your curiosity,” he nodded to the captain, “perhaps we can continue with our deal?”
—
For once, this whole deal looked like it was on the up and up.
From a security standpoint, Ster-hel thought this was a great resolution. The longer the human and his Capt. talked, the more time it gave Ster-hel to try and figure out the difference between the animal the Empress had around her all the time, and this one that was near the two humans. As far as he could tell, they didn’t look too dissimilar.
He had to have it.
He bided his time while the Captain continued negotiating the deal. Within just ten minutes or so, the two shook hands and Ster-hel looked around as he heard the whine of the anti gravity pallet bring the payment from their own ship. Ster-hel noticed the hover-pad coming from the human ship made no noise whatsoever.
The male continued watching the two of them as the female transferred the spice from her pallet, replacing it with the payment from Yollins.
Soon enough, the Yollin Captain nodded to the human and they each stepped back. The two pallet slabs, each heading back to their respective ships. The Captain nodded to Ster-hel as he passed him and continued walking toward the ship. Ster-hel kept the two humans in his view. As he took two steps backwards, he started to turn around, but then looked back at the humans.
“How much for the wolf?”
The male human shook his head, “She is not for sale.”
Ster-hel chuckled, everything was for sale.
He had been doing black-market forever, and it was only a matter of negotiation. Besides, they had a ship full of weapons and the spice now. He could get the animal one way or another.
He chuckled, flipping on the arming button for his pistol. “Everything is for sale. I said, how much for the wolf? How much is that little animal really worth to you? Is it enough to die over?”
—
Capt. Maek-ven had made it approximately one-third of the way back to his ship when he heard his security officer ask how much the humans wanted for the wolf. He closed his eyes and hung his head as he walked another few steps.
This had almost gone well. He turned to yell at his security officer to get his bony little ass back in the ship and stop harassing the humans, when he noticed the security officer flick off the security switch on his pistol, activating it.
It was obvious the weapon was armed and he was using it to threaten the humans. If they were able to get out of this without a major altercation, he was gonna rip his security officer to shreds for such a breach of operational standards.
The Captain’s eyes opened an alarm when the male changed in front of his eyes.
One moment, he was there, angry, but still human. The next he was towering above both his security officer and the female who was trying to talk to him. The roar shook the walls of the small canyon and as his security officer tried to pull up his weapon two shots hit the ground, throwing up dirt.
But too late.
The snarling creature grabbed his security officers hand and yanked the pistol out of it, crushing it in his hand and reaching for the security agent’s neck. His roar of a challenge reverberated through the canyon and the Captain watched as his security agent screamed in pain. The captain turned back and ran towards the ship.
“Dammit, Ber’knick! Start those engines, rev them to red, I don’t give a shit! Get ready to blast us out of here!”
It took him but a moment for his feet to hit the metal of the landing ramp.
—
The ship’s pilot had been monitoring what was going on, however, it got pretty boring after a little while. Obviously, the human and his captain were getting along just well and the security officer was keeping him up to date.
When they requested the money, the pilot allowed the ship’s computers to take the payment out across the ground.
He started his preflight checklist, occasionally looking up at the video monitors to make sure nothing was going wrong. After a few more items on his list, he looked up a second time and noticed that the captain was walking back, so he really focused on his checklist.
He had another four items crossed off when he heard the Captain yelling for him to take off.
He started rushing through the checklist, skipping those items that he felt were unnecessary. He could hear the captain’s running click click, click click through the ship, “What the hell are we still doing on the ground, Ber’knick?” the Captain’s panicked yell reverberated down the hallway.
The pilot tossed his checklist away and slammed his hand down on the emergency lift as he heard an unworldly beast screaming at them. Ber’knick asked him, “What the hell is going on?”
The captain stopped right outside the cockpit, “That idiot decided he wanted the animal too badly. Even though I told him to leave it well enough alone, he disobeyed orders. Now, he’s gone and pissed off one of those humans who can change into…something! Hurry up and take off.”
“I’ve got to give it another fifteen…” A severed arm slammed into the cockpit’s glass, screeching from the Yollin arm’s exoskeleton as it fell slowly, leaving a smear of blood down the glass.
The pilot, his mouth wide open, watched as it slid down the glass, and spat out the alien equivalent of “Fuck me!” He turned his head back to the controls, punched two buttons, and pulled on the yoke, the ship rising quickly into the air.
FROM MICHAEL >>> I’m trying! Dictation is seriously a mind-game for me. What I can type easily enough out of my fingers is not so easy to speak out of my mouth.
I’ve done about 8 chapters (1/3 of the book) and will be spending a lot of time in a car this weekend, so I hope to get some writing done in the car.
Hopefully, car-sickness doesn’t become a thing.
Have a WONDERFUL Weekend!
If you hadn’t heard, Risk Be Damned is out this week (Natalie Grey) – Pick it up for a weekend read 😉
Michael
Risking One’s Heart is often harder than Risking One’s life.
When you have made a point of not risking love for a thousand years… You wonder if the promise is worth the pain…
Sometimes… Risk Be Damned, your heart doesn’t ask permission.
Stephen, Michael’s brother, is charged with finding out what is happening to Wechselbalg in Europe and uncovers a sinister plot. Jennifer is working this operation with him.
While the Queen is watching from above.
How will the two of them work together, as Stephen tries to deal with handling a true romance for the first time in centuries? How often will Bethany Anne tease him?
How often will he go too far protecting Jennifer?
Emotions in turmoil, Stephen, and Jennifer deal with someone who knows too much about the UnknownWorld, and has plans to use it.
RISK BE DAMNED is part of The Kurtherian Gambit Universe set between books 13 and 14. Loosely, these three three years are called “The Dark Years” or “The Lost Years.”
The Dark Years – when the Trials and Tribulations of being merciful were shouldered by Bethany Anne and her people.
NEVER SURRENDER – Snippet 02 of …
UNEDITED

“The ship’s scopes are showing three warm bodies at the landing zone, and three guns pointed to where we expect to land,” Ber’knick told the captain over the intercom system.
Captain Maek-ven weighed the information before pressing the button and asking, “Can you give me any more details on the three warm bodies?”
The answer from the pilot was quick, “Yes, two humanoid and bipedal. One animal, four legs. Much smaller than the two humanoids.”
“Sounds like one of their dogs,” the captain said aloud.
His security chief, Ster-hel, looked over at him. “You mean like the Empress has with her most of the time? That white four-footed creature?”
The Captain wanted to roll his eyes, Ster-hel seemed to be fascinated. No, not fascinated, rather he seemed to be mentally unstable about acquiring one of those types of animal. “I could not tell you if it is the same one. I guess we will find out when we get there.”
The ship’s engines started to whine, a rising crescendo as their pilot slowed their ship down and directed more energy into slowly landing the craft. For all of the pilot’s bitching, Captain Maek-ven felt the cost of the ship was appropriate. The technology on it might be a little old, but it did fly well and was in good shape. He turned around and walked forward, slapping his hand on the button to open the doorway. The hatch lowered to the ground as the pilot gave the all clear over the intercom.
Ster-hel, weapon out, went before the Captain. The idea, and it seemed to be true no matter what species you were, was trust each other and provide mutually assured destruction. There was no way the three little guns up in the rocks would harm the airship enough to keep it on the ground. However, it could probably kill the Captain and that was enough. Now, his security guy, Ster-hel, could probably kill at least one, if not both, of the contacts out there, but more than likely both the Captain and Ster-hel would die at the same time.
Ster-hel gave the all clear, and Captain Maek-ven continued down the ramp and set his foot back on Yollin soil. He looked around at the location where the human wished to meet.
He was impressed with the selection. It stopped any significantly larger ships from being able to enter and land and also offered plenty of locations to hide guns. The human had to understand that they would have enough technology to find additional bodies, should there be any around. So far, he seemed to be playing on the up and up.
Captain Maek-ven had paid attention to the information that was available on the humans, and he could see that the other was a female of their species. Considering how close they were, they might also be in a relationship.
That would be even better, if both were junkies for this drink. Perhaps he could get spice that he could plant and grow, given enough time.
The agreement was for the spice already processed that would not grow. He would still try to take the spice to a geneticist to see whether or not they could yank enough DNA out of the the spice to provide a way to propagate.
It took Ster-hel and Captain Maek-ven another few minutes to make it over to the three beings. Well, two humans and ….
“What is that?” Security officer Ster-hel pointed toward the animal.
Capt. Maek-ven wanted to palm his face in frustration. If his security officer blew this opportunity to purchase the drink’s necessary ingredients, he would personally shoot one of his damned toes off.

Christina was enjoying running around in her four-footed form. She didn’t mind not being in her human form at all during this episode.
It was rather fun when aliens mistook her for an ignorant beast.
For whatever reason, she was incredibly advanced for her age, intellectually along with the ability to transform her body. Aunt Bethany Anne suspected her intelligence was a byproduct of the upgraded genetics from her parents and the nanocytes that helped mold her body in her mother’s womb.
Her ability to transform was most likely due to her mom and dad’s advanced nanocytes having been through the Pod-doc.
She watched the ship land and had to agree that whoever the pilot was had done a good job. It took them but a moment for the back landing ramp to disengage from the ship and lower to the ground.
After a few moments, someone came out with a weapon and looked around. Christina watched as the Yollin male was satisfied before heading a few feet in their direction and looking around again. Obviously a security person of some type. He turned around and yelled back to the ship. Seconds after that, another Yollin came out – this one looking like he was in charge.
She sat down on her haunches, her tongue hanging out, as the two of them headed in their direction. It wasn’t long before the one in front pointed at her, and asked what she was.
Christina turned to look up at her parents, wondering what they would answer.
FROM MICHAEL >>> I’m presently writing this from the back seat of my wife’s car. She is driving us to our date night location, and it is a little ways away. So long as I got this snippet out, I figured the rest of the night I could take off.
So, this morning I changed out my Facebook picture from a business picture I had for my consulting business (taken like 6 years ago in a suit and tie) to one I had taken probably 6 months ago when a couple of fan’s had told me, “Get rid of the picture on Amazon.”
Well, I didn’t…Get rid of the suit picture (I did get rid of the yellow looking picture on Amazon.) I really had no excuse, it was mainly laziness.
You see, I consider myself a intelligently lazy person. I don’t WANT to work all the time, but when I do, I try to be smart about it.
Occasionally, I actually accomplish it, too.
So, after speaking to The Author’s Wife (who said I needed to go get some professional photography done for when The Today Show called, we had something) I guess I’m slated to get something a little better than el’ scruffo face I’m using on Facebook at the moment.
Not that I”m worried about The Today Show calling, but who knows, maybe I’ll ship them the suit and tie picture and show up in my normal outfit.
You know, the black t-shirt, Levi Jeans and sneakers I usually wear. 😉
We are getting ready to drop a lot of new titles on you (again) in the next few weeks. Craig will have one, then me (or him again) and then me, CM Raymond and LE Barbant, Justin, TS Paul and sometime soon, I’ll start sharing just a little more about what is coming later in 2017.
Oh, and for those who asked, I’ve checked with Jeff Brown (artist) to start figuring out something that helps place all of these series on a timeline to better understand the damned magnificent idea in my head. (Ok, you should really read that as “the concepts in The Author’s head which, when processed through the talents of a freaking artist, look damned magnificent.)
My father has a saying which is “Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.”
So, that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
New Video for Never Surrender
As you might imagine, a creative person such as yourself (or myself) might enjoy different types of activities that help express their creativity.
When I was young (think 18-22) I dabbled in all sorts of creative outlets including (but not limited to) Leather (think Tandy Leather for those who know the company), stained glass (NOT easy for me to cut glass, by the way, and holy crap does it make a potential mess), and painting.
Now, I’m impatient. So, I had studied the ‘masters’ in high school and had this fantastic book on the master that belonged on a coffee table.
If I had one. C’mon, I was just out of the house, first apartment, a coffee table was not on my list-of-furniture-to-get.
Anyway, I explain the masters because they all worked in oils. If they worked in oils, I need to work in oils, right?
Nope, wrong. Oils can take DAYS to dry! Holy crap, screw that.
I’m impatient, remember?
Then, acrylics (still a drying problem) and watercolors and pastels. You would think pastels, at least, would be quick enough. The problem with both pastels and watercolors was white. Yeah, the color white. As in, I couldn’t just paint white on my scene, I had to leave the white area’s of the paper white to have white and I didn’t like it. I mean, come on, I’ve had the color white since my Crayon box of 16 colors.
So, I fast forward to say that while I’m writing and working on LMBPN Publishing here in 2017 and we are branching out. I’m using income from the book sales to fund the audio productions AND I get to invest a small amount in a passion of mine.
Video.
Now, not a whole lot into video because investing in a true video production using state of the art techniques makes taking a family of 10 people to DisneyWorld look like a non-profit exercise.
Michael doesn’t have the pockets of the big Mouse himself.
But, I’m SUPER excited to say that as we build some great art, I’m building a small group of fantastic artists behind the scenes, and ONE of the things we are doing is looking at video.
So that one day, whether Hollywood or Netflix come calling or not, we WILL have a show about the Kurtherian Gambit.
Cause, I’m an Indie Publishing Outlaw, and we don’t accept ‘No’ from anyone. We have the fans, we have the stories, the rest?
It’s just details.
So, here is what the team has produced this time. It is a cover done by Jeff Brown (http;//www.jeffbrowngraphics.com), Bethany Anne voiced by Emily Beresford (who does the Audio Books), and animation done by K. Kadera under direction of Jude Beers. I did the audio work with music licensed from VideoHive.net.
Here is the Painting used for the Cover of Never Surrender (Art by Jeff Brown – (c) LMBPN Publishing)

Add in a script sent to Emily Beresford, work by Jude Beers and K. Kadera and myself…
We got this (I hope you like it!)
