A Surprising Snippet for Nike Chronicles!

A fun and exciting snippet for the latest book from M.L. Bullock!
Have you checked out this latest book by M.L. Bullock? I just read the first chapter and I can’t wait until this book goes live tomorrow! Check this out and get ready for a snarky heroine on the beachy town of Dauphine Island!
Nik
Dusty Souvenir
Dauphin Island had more than its share of weirdness, as illustrated by tomorrow’s Mullet Toss, but it was home to me. It wasn’t as popular as nearby Sand Island or Frenchman Bay, but we islanders clung to our small-town identity like it was a badge of honor. Almost unanimously, islanders refused to succumb to the pressure of beach developers and big-city politicians who occasionally visited our pristine stretches of sand with dollar signs in their eyes. No matter how they sweet-talked the town elders, they left unsatisfied time and time again, with the exception of a lone tower of condominiums that stood awkwardly in the center of the island. As someone said recently at our monthly town meeting, “We don’t need all that hoopla.”
That seemed to be the general sense of things, and although I valued what they were trying to preserve, I didn’t always agree with my fellow business owners and residents. Still, I was just Nike Augustine, a girl with a weird name and a love for French fries. Most notably, I was the granddaughter of the late Jack Augustine, respected one-time mayor of Dauphin Island. What did I know? I was too young to appreciate the importance of protecting our sheltered island, or so I had been told. Island folk such as I made the bulk of our money during Spring Break and the Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo in July. It was enough to make a girl nuts.
But despite this prime example of narrow-mindedness, I fit in here, along with all the oddities like the island clock that never worked properly, the abandoned lighthouse everyone believed was haunted, and the fake purple shark that hung outside my grandfather’s souvenir shop. I reminded myself of that when the overwhelming desire to wander overtook me, as it threatened to do today and had done most days recently. I had even begun to dream of diving into the ocean and swimming as far down as I could. Pretty crazy since I feared the water, or more specifically, what swam hidden in the darkness. Another Nike eccentricity. Only my grandfather understood my reluctance, but he was no longer here to tell me I wasn’t crazy. My fear of water separated me from my friends, who practically lived in or on the waters of the Gulf of Mexico or Mobile Bay most of the year. read more…

Snippet #2:
Stephanie was busier than he anticipated, and it took her more than an hour to arrive, rather than the half an hour he had predicted.
“Thank God you’re here!” Marcus exclaimed as she stalked into the room. He stood and gestured to his seat. “You can use my terminal.”
“I’m sorry I took so long,” she replied, crossed to where he stood, and slid into the seat. “We were in the middle of loading the ship and I was needed.”
Marcus ran a hand through his hair. “That’s okay. We wouldn’t have called you at all but we’ve hit something of a snag…”
He let the words trail off as she leaned over the screen and he watched her carefully as she studied what they’d tried to do. It was hard to stand still as her frown grew deeper.
“So,” she said when he thought he couldn’t stand it any longer, “what exactly seems to be the problem?” read more…

A First Look at Witch of the Federation VI!

It’s the final book in the Phenomenal Witch of the Federation Series!
Here’s your first look at the last book!
Snippet #1
Marcus, Gemma, and Trey were still blowing themselves up when Professor Nathan Fellon rejoined them. It had been two very long weeks since he’d been able to participate, and they still struggled to find solutions.
It had been as entertaining as hell, though, from the snippets he’d been able to see while away resolving things so he could join the project full-time.
He’d arrived with a smile of anticipation, but it faded quickly when Professor Rimmer’s voice rang through the White Room.
“Oh, for fu—” the professor began and Cynthia cleared her throat warningly.
“Pity’s sake!” he finished at a roar.
His assistant was implacable. “It’s time to take a break, Doc. Don’t make me come in there.”
Marcus scowled but he capitulated. “You heard the lady, people. It’s break time.” read more…
Don’t Miss This Snippet #2 for Retribution, Now Live!
With Retribution now live, here’s an exciting snippet from the book!
Shanghai, China
Cui had roared in outrage when he saw his quarry shoot into the sky in a strangely familiar flying craft. He had pursued this Forsaken for weeks and had him in his grasp, only to have him disappear in something that he had not seen in many years.
“What the hell was that, Cui?” Pan asked when they changed to human form several miles north of Shanghai.
“That was something I thought I would never see again,” Cui growled.
The run north had calmed his raging temper enough to answer, barely. “I believe that was one of those strange craft TQB used before they went off in those fucking spaceships.”
“Oh, shit,” Su lamented. “Does this mean they’re back?”
“How the hell should I know?” Cui snapped. “You saw as much as I did.”
“We need to inform Master Kun,” Ren supplied. “He will not be happy that the leech got away.”
“Tell me something I don’t know,” Cui shot back. “This just keeps getting better. If that damn self-appointed Queen is back, he will be more than unhappy.” read more…
Spine-Tingling final snippet#2 for Betrayal of Magic!
Spine-Tingling final snippet for Betrayal of Magic! Out Today!
Snippet #2:
Padron made his way to the mines in Chatwick. He was determined to figure out what on Irth could have been so important down there it would have caused all this turmoil. His friend Sariah’s life was in chaos, and fer what? A worthless medallion at the bottom of some mineshaft in a hopeless town in the middle of the Alpenwood.
He shook his head. No, that didn’t make no sense. People don’t kill and destroy fer nothing. There had ta be a reason. Something else was going on in this town, and he had every intention of getting to the bottom of it, and that meant going back into the mines.
The rearick pushed on his mine cart and headed for the entrance to the shaft. The cart held his battle-ax and a handful of low-grade explosives, covered by a couple of blankets and some pickaxes. The hefty weapon would help him get past any human guards who might block his path, and the explosives should take care of anything more stationary.
On his left, the mine foreman sat in a watchtower, inspecting all of the miners as they came into work. Most were waved through without incident, though the occasional man would be stopped and frisked by a nearby guard.
“Bah,” Padron grumbled. “Some lousy policy this is,” he added under his breath. read more…

A Fun Snippet #1 for Retribution, Akio #3!
A Fun Snippet #1 for Retribution, Akio #3!
TQB Base, Tokyo, Japan
After landing in the courtyard, Akio led Kenjii into the office building. They approached an elevator that had opened on its own and entered. Kenjii felt the lift descend a short distance, then the doors opened into a well-lit hallway with no visible openings.
Akio led him to a wall at the end of the hall and placed his hand on a blank spot at chest height. The area underneath lit up briefly and a section of the wall slid open, revealing another elevator. Kenjii looked askance but remained silent as the older vampire motioned for him to enter.
The door slid closed once they were inside, and Kenjii started as a voice filled the space. “Welcome, Akio, and congratulations on a successful mission.”
“Thank you, Abel. This is Kenjii. Please grant him level one access.”
“Level one access confirmed. Welcome to our home, Kenjii. It is good to meet you finally.”
The new arrival’s eyes widened as he looked at Akio.
“This is Abel, the entity intelligence who runs our base. He has been helping me search for you since you came out of the rubble at Acheng,” Akio explained. read more…
