Bad Blood
Someone is hunting vampires in Chicago, again.
As a Helsing, Dave Holden should probably send them a thank-you note. Instead, it’s turning into his biggest headache yet.
Ashford’s buried secrets have supernatural factions at each other’s throats, and brand-new tracking tech is suddenly exposing beings who’ve hidden in plain sight for centuries. But the dead fangs aren't the worst omen in town. That honor belongs to the Hollow Folk.
Tiny, blue, and whispering from inside the walls, the creatures only surface when the magical balance is in danger. When they start answering Dave’s harmonica, their warning is chillingly clear: something is coming to put things back in order.
Surviving that correction won't be simple. Dave’s inherited Helsing abilities are changing into something he doesn't understand, Mari is developing magic of her own, and Leon is trying to keep Chicago's vampires from turning on each other while everyone else seems determined to help them along.
Worst of all, Dave has an engagement ring burning a hole in his pocket and can't find five uninterrupted minutes to propose.
He'd better work fast.
Because when ancient magic decides to reset the scales, it doesn't bother separating the good guys from the bad. It just clears the board.
