Dave Holden was getting used to the whole vampire hunter thing.
Just in time for the rules to change.
Old Blood vampires are turning up dead across Chicago, their bodies neatly emptied from the inside. Tiny glowing Hollow Folk are following Dave, his scars are reacting to things they shouldn't, and Mari is picking up supernatural signals that put her right in the middle of the hunt.
Then Dave's father comes out of thirty years of hiding.
Good timing, Dad.
Because something older than vampires has returned to Chicago.
They call it the Other.
The last time it appeared, more than a thousand years ago, the supernatural world hid rather than die. This time, Dave and Mari are determined to stop it before history gets another shot.
Of course, there are a couple of problems.
Ashford is still determined to carry out his plan.
And the Other isn't hunting at random. It's not just looking for vampires.
It's also looking for Dave.
Turns out being a Helsing isn't just about hunting monsters.
Sometimes the monsters are hunting you.
