One Step Past Sundown

One Step Past Sundown

“The darkness holds no power over us. Tonight, we ride together into history.”

– Van Helsing’s Last Stand

Dylan McCormick is an average eighteen year old kid who graduated high school with his friends. The plus side of working at the family sandwich shop instead of going straight to university is he skipped gaining the freshman fifteen. The downside is no woman likes hearing, “keep it down, my parents are upstairs…”

A small indignity in exchange for free rent and a job that pays above minimum wage.

Everything changes when Thomas Michael Sweeny starts sniffing around the shop. Dylan’s dad doesn’t want to sell his American dream. Giving up the shop isn’t an option, some things are more important than money.

What Dylan’s father doesn’t know was that when he said no Sweeny, he was really saying no to a vampire.

Vampires aren’t known for handling rejection well.

Seventeen hundred miles away in the dust bowl that is Phoenix, Arizona, Saul and Greg Cooper are also working in their family business.

Their father is the current Van Helsing and leader of the Helsing Society. They’re growing tired of their father’s orders to wait and watch from the shadows. They want to take action against the creatures of the night. What they long for is the chance to fight back.

What they need is a champion. Then it would be the vampires’ turn to fear the night.
